Boiler Operator Training in New Jersey
Also known as our Externship program, the Boiler & Plant Operator Training Program is the most comprehensive boiler training in New Jersey, designed to help students start a successful career in plant operations. This six month, hybrid program provides maximum flexibility, giving you the education and real-world experience required to work in the field. With multiple locations across the state, we provide top-rated boiler operator training to students throughout New Jersey.
Regardless of your experience level, you will learn the trade of a stationary engineer through both classroom and hands-on training with commercial and industrial boilers. The curriculum is extensive covering all aspects of plant operations, including high and low pressure steam boilers, hydronic systems, water chemistry, fuel and combustion, preventative maintenance, and more. This is a complete boiler training program built to make you field-ready, equipping you with the exact experience, skills, and state-mandated license required to start a career as a New Jersey boiler and plant operator.
Program Schedule & Class Details
This 6-month boiler & plant operator training program delivers 300 total training hours, consisting of 20 sessions of hybrid (online and in-person) classes, plus hands-on training. Students obtain the state-required 120 hours of real-world experience with commercial and industrial boilers at a self-scheduled pace. With campuses in Wrightstown and Branchburg, NJ, plus a network of boiler facilities statewide, we make training convenient for students throughout New Jersey. You will gain the skills needed to start a career as a Boiler Operator, Stationary Engineer, and Plant Operator. The total cost is $6,000, with financing plans available starting as low as $115 per month. There are no hidden fees or added costs. Everything is covered in the tuition cost, including all books, materials, digital learning resources, and the Black Seal license exam.

- Program Length: 6 months
- Schedule: Weekly 2-hour classes (online or in-person)
- Format: 20 sessions consisting of 16 classes (your choice online or in-person) and 4 in-person workshops, plus a minimum of 120 hours of self-scheduled hands-on training to meet state requirements.
- Student-to-Teacher Ratio: 6:1 for in-person workshops & hands-on training.
- Location: Choose either our Wrightstown, NJ or Branchburg, NJ campus.
