Why The Training Center?

“The entire staff was great in giving you help in any way you needed it. Also, if you show that you are serious about this line of work, they would do anything possible to help you with work after receiving your license. The best.”

Damien Askew
“This place is a hidden gem. From day one it has been a huge learning experience from the flexible scheduling for people working, to how you have everything you need from the online setup. Super informative and you actually really learn here. Better than those Lincoln Tech programs.”

Marco Martinez
“Great school with interactive teaching techniques and wonderful flexibility. Their career development program is one of a kind and has really worked wonders for myself. I was able to obtain my high pressure black seal and start a new job at a cogeneration plant within a year.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the best HVAC training program in New Jersey?

While we offer a variety of HVAC courses and certifications, our HVAC Technician Training Program is the most comprehensive option, and ideal for beginners. It provides in-depth training over 11 months and prepares students for a career in HVAC.

Do I need an HVAC license to work as a technician in NJ?

You do not need a license to start as a technician. New Jersey requires a Master HVACR license to operate as a licensed HVACR contractor or run an HVAC business under that title. Entry-level HVAC technicians typically start by working under the supervision of a licensed contractor to gain experience after completing formal training.

Can I take HVAC classes online, or do I need to attend in person?

Yes. We offer HVAC classes online, in person, and in a hybrid format, giving you flexibility to learn around your schedule. In-person lab sessions are ideal for building hands-on HVAC skills with real equipment.

How long does HVAC training take?

Training options range from one-day bootcamps to our 11-month HVAC Technician Training Program. The right choice depends on whether you’re starting a new career or advancing existing skills.

Do I need prior experience to start HVAC training?

No experience is required. Our programs are designed for beginners, career changers, and experienced professionals who want to start or advance their career.

What HVAC certifications are most important for technicians?

The most important is the EPA 608 Certification (mandatory for refrigerants), followed by A2L and EPA 609. However, these credentials are not a substitute for trade training. We recommend beginners start with our HVAC Technician Training Program to learn the fundamentals and skills needed to start a career as a technician.

Where are your HVAC training locations in New Jersey?

The Training Center has two campuses in Branchburg, NJ and Wrightstown, NJ. Both feature modern labs and industry-standard equipment, making HVAC training accessible across the entire state.

Does The Training Center’s HVAC School cover all New Jersey counties?

Yes. We serve students from every county in New Jersey, including those in Northern, Central, and Southern NJ. While our physical labs are in Wrightstown and Branchburg, our hybrid training model makes our programs accessible to students statewide.

Where can I get hands-on HVAC training?

We offer multiple hands-on training options, ranging from our one-day bootcamps to our comprehensive HVAC Technician Program. These programs provide real-world training in small groups at our Wrightstown, NJ and Branchburg, NJ campuses.

Is HVAC training worth it?

Yes. HVAC technicians are in high demand in New Jersey, and trained graduates often enter the field quickly with strong earning potential.
